Email plays a massive role in business and the way your staff do business.
Are you sure that the email system in your business is the right one?
Whether you work from a fixed location or mobile device on the go, the kind of email you use can have a direct effect on productivity of your staff.
The relationship between your email system and staff productivity is often over looked or simply not understood.
Did you know:
Unbeknownst to many business owners is that not all email systems are created equal. Some have limitations while others actually have too many options.
Either way this can limit the productivity of your business and especially your people as email has a major influence on how your business operates.
A growing area of concern for many people is synchronicity. As technology evolves so does your staffs work habits and needs. There is an ever increasing demand for emails to be accessible on mobile phones, PDA’s or other mobile devices while at the same time be properly synchronised with desktop workstations.
The need to constantly update conversations and email threads from mobile devices to desktops with certain types of email can prove to be tedious and unproductive – and some email system types simply don’t include these capabilities at all.
Depending on the way you use your email, especially when on the go, having full access and control of your account can define how productive you and others in your organisation can be.
Also your email may determine how external companies perceive you and your team. First impressions are extremely important and if their email system has issues accepting your correspondence this could affect the way your company is viewed externally.
Besides providing full synchronisation and integration with mobile devices, certain types of email systems also have features for sharing and collaboration features allowing setting up schedules and sharing files from your mail box, as well as central storage for emails that allow you to access your account seamlessly with any device, regardless of where you are located.
You must also remember having a full featured email system may not be the best for everyone. The key is to know whether adapting a more bare bones system is cost effective for your organisation (always considering the long term view).
Sometimes the top of the line system may be needed and or sometimes you may just need to tweak your current email system to allow you to maximise staff productivity.
